Garden

Last Saturday we worked on a garden at my mom's house. David really wanted a garden this year and seeing as we don't have any yard, we got creative and asked my mom if we could plant at her house. She has a great space for a garden next to her house and so we worked together to come up with a plan for the space. We got the soil ready last Saturday and just when that was done it started to pour. We took a break and soon enough it was dry enough to plant. We planted a few things and then will be planting the rest soon. I am excited to see what comes of these little seeds. Thinking back I can't really remember actually successfully growing something from seed. My mom is a wonderful gardener and I have enjoyed many home grown veggies but have never planted them myself. We are both excited to see our little plants grow...and to have something tasty as a result!

David has entered a busy season at work. This is bad news for everyone involved and we are looking forward to June when it hopefully will go back to normal. Aidan still gets to spend quality time with Daddy at night and is usually full of smiles and words for David when he gets home.

Tulips, Temple and Catching up

Two weeks ago David and I had a wonderful weekend trip North to Mount Vernon, Langley BC and Bellingham. We had a couple of things we wanted to do and decided to make it a fun packed weekend. We left Saturday morning and went to the tulip festival in Mount Vernon. We got there before the crowd and picked a lovely day for touring the tulips. Most of our time was spent capturing cute pictures of Aidan in the tulips. They sure make great backgrounds for pictures. He wasn't very amused but was pretty happy throughout our time there.

We then got back in the car and headed to Langley BC to the open house for the Vancouver BC Temple for our church. When a Temple is opened they open it to the public for about a month before it is dedicated and you can tour the inside of it. The Vancouver temple was so beautiful and it was amazing to see such craftsmanship. We were so glad we went and even walking through the temple in such a big group there was a special spirit there. Aidan too must have liked it because he was quiet the entire time. After that we went to Bellingham to visit some friends, Rachel and Phil. They kindly made us dinner and let us stay with them. Aidan cooperated again and even went to bed early so we could stay up and play cards. On Sunday we got up and went to church at our old building. It was so nice to see friends that we haven't seen in so long. After church we walked around Boulevard park (one of our favorite Bellingham places) and then headed back to Seattle in time to make it for a birthday dinner at the Koenigs celebrating David and Katherine's birthdays. Overall it was a fabulous weekend and we loved going away, spending time as a family and seeing such great sights (and friends too!).

...and this boy who usually hates his carseat was a champ!

Springtime

Well it is now April and time is flying by. Aidan is 3 months old and is growing so much. He is quite the talker and after he's eaten he often talks and smiles for quite some time. His fa He is very entertaining and we just can't get over how cute he is.An exciting event in March that I haven't mentioned yet is that Aidan's cousin Danagan was born. Daniel and Laura had their first baby on March 5th and we got to be at the hospital to welcome him to the world.
Cousins! Here they are the day after Danagan was born. Here are Aidan and Danagan at about 11 weeks and 3 weeks.

A couple of weeks after Aidan came home we went to Gorditos burritos to get our free burrito. If you wrap up your newborn and let them take a picture, you get a free burrito! This burrito fed both David and I and then one of us lunch the next day. We were glad we were not able to solo eat a burrito the size of our baby.
