8 months!

This bright eyed boy is 8 1/2 months! He is now crawling around and pulling up on everything. It is so cute to see him standing at the train table next to his big brother and playing along. Oliver's first tooth was discovered last weekend and is a little fang tooth. Beat his brother by months!

Happy Halloween!

This year our Halloween celebration included our church Trunk or Treat, a friend's party, our 3rd annual PEPS Halloween party hosted by Meg and Trick or Treating in Edmonds and around our neighborhood. Aidan embraced trick or treating this year even though his parents only let him have a few pieces of his candy. He forgot all about the candy as soon as we came home and I am sad to report that his parents (mostly his mom) really did eat all his Halloween candy.

Toddler activities

As Aidan has gotten older, playing has become more fun. Maybe the teacher in me likes to plan projects and do "activities" instead of just play animals or pretend. I love this age!

Rainbow shaving cream for painting in the bath

This kept him busy until the water got cold
Rainbow lunch! We ate all the colors of the rainbow- fruit, cheese, blueberry bagels, peas, carrots. Don't forget the rainbow cupcakes!
Caterpillar matching game
Last but not least I wanted to share the train table we made for Aidan. This was a fun and easy weekend project. We made a train table that fits over our coffee table. I can be removed and stored under Aidan's bed. The best part is that the tracks are glued down so it doesn't get ruined if you accidentally bump it.

6 Months

I'm over a month late in posting this but here are some pictures around Oliver's half birthday. He is such a happy kid. Aidan is excited that the day "Oliver can play firetrucks with me" is quickly approaching. We absolutely love Oliver's curly hair!

Summer Fun

We have been having a great summer! We spent 4th of July in Leavenworth and surprised my Grandma with a party for her birthday. Aidan and Oliver got to spend time with their grandparents and great grandparents. Here are some pictures from that trip....

Nana & Oliver

One other thing. We got a little pool for our backyard and it has been so fun to have. Aidan can spend a long time playing in just a couple inches of water. Fun times!

Memorial Day Weekend in Leavenworth

We had the opportunity to go to Leavenworth  over Memorial day weekend. We left Saturday morning and came back Sunday night to beat the traffic and also because David had to work on Memorial day. We didn't know until Friday if David would have the weekend off so it was very exciting to find out we could make the trip to see my grandparents. They got to meet Oliver for the first time and he gave them plenty of smiles!

The weather was beautiful and we had a great time. Even though it was such a short visit it still felt like a mini vacation. Here are a few photos of the family.

And just because I couldn't resist....here's a picture of Aidan's outfit he picked out. Love this kid!

(Grand)mother's day

David and I are lucky to have wonderful mothers just as Aidan and Oliver are lucky to have wonderful grandmothers! We love that our kids are close with their Grandma and Nana. Happy Mother's Day! This year Aidan, Oliver and I traveled to Denver with my mom (Nana) to visit my Grandma Bev. It was a quick and busy trip but I was glad to see family and introduce them to Oliver. Trying to keep Aidan and Oliver both happy all the time with limited naps and a crazy schedule was quite the challenge. We flew back late on Mother's day and pretty much spent the day testing our mothering abilities. All in all it was worth it.
