Home!!!

This is from when we were in the hospital (the day he came home I think). Please excuse the ugly outfit they put on him...kind of girly if you ask me. I love his face in this one.

Notice the dimple
Aidan is now 4 1/2 weeks old which if I was still pregnant I would be 38 weeks along today. We are now home and loving it. We came home last Wednesday and so far Aidan is doing very well adjusting to his new environment. He is eating well and his visit to the pediatrician on Monday confirmed that he is gaining weight. When we left the hospital he weighed 5lbs 14oz. On Monday he was at 6lbs 10oz! Now there could be some discrepancy in the scales but either way he gaining weight. We are working now to transfer from bottle feeds to breastfeeds and he is proving to be pretty good at doing both. Right now my life consists of feeding, pumping, burping, rocking and resting. However I feel so lucky to have a baby that sleeps for 3 hour chunks at a time (at least for now), an awesome husband and family and friends that are so supportive. We feel so much better now that we can relax at home instead of trekking up to Everett everyday.

On another note, we have some exciting news to share...David got a new job! It was pretty crazy timing but it is very exciting for our family. He is now working for Milliman, Inc., which is an actuarial firm in Seattle. Now David can officially call himself an Actuary. He interviewed for the job 4 days after Aidan was born and then found out a couple of weeks ago that he got it. He then started Feb 1st and so far is enjoying the challenge, change and opportunity that this job is providing. It is great because he works downtown Seattle and can take a bus from right outside our house to right down the street from work. We also enjoy the change in schedule and are getting to spend dinnertime together which we love.

Congrats!!!! It is definitely the best feeling when you FINALLY get to take them home and there are no more daily trips to the hospital for you! We are so happy for you and glad to hear Aiden is doing well. Also, congrats on the new job.
PS...as far as sleeping goes, Aiden will most likely keep sleeping for 3 hours at a time and then increase from there. We found with Clark that was the one benefit of the nursery, they got him on a great schedule which he stuck with and then improved on once we were home. In fact, when I had #2, there was a day I actually wished he could spend a day or two in the nursery so they could get him on a schedule too...didn't know what a great thing it was until I didn't have it done for me. Hope Aiden also sticks with it for you as well.
